Just when we were about to die of boredom from all the fluff in country music and PR, JOHN RICH saves the day!!! Ashamedly, we just got scooped big time by TMZ.COM with respect to a story NASHVILLESPY.COM should have been all over right here in our spies’ back yard. According to TMZ.COM, RICH (who ironically we have referred to as “bad cop” in previous posts) has apparently “… turned himself in to the Metro Davidson County Criminal Justice Center in Nashville, Tenn. this afternoon to face misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment stemming from an alleged altercation between…” he and JARED ASHLEY. The two apparently know each other from the TV show Nashville Star where ASHLEY was a finalist and RICH was a judge a few seasons ago.
To keep things fun this summer, let’s hope RICH keeps up the drama and picks on other up-and-coming country music artists he has judged in an effort feed his insatiable ego and to save his own recording career. As a side note, ASHLEY seems to us to be a perfectly talented and hard working country music artist who should stand up to RICH’s infamous ego and loud mouth. Come on spies, help us out here… we don’t want to get scooped again by our Los Angeles friends at TMZ.COM again.

ALL these problems come from his drinking. Who’s going to get him sober if not his wife??? Who else would care enough? She SHOULD be babysitting him if that’s what it takes to keep him from alcohol. The sad thing is that she can’t stop him, or won’t, but hopefully someone who cares about him will.
Besides who wants an alcoholic husband who keeps getting sued and arrested? He could ruin her life too, and their kids’ lives, if they ever have any. She would be helping herself by helping him…. If she cared and isn’t just in it for his money.

There are two sides to this story, this incident took place in John rich’s private club, where John had him thrown out, as he was not a member. This is when the incident took place, John rich is not an angel, by any means, but neither is Jared Ashley, placin these charges because John rich would not pay 2.9 million dollars. Even if John rich DID punch Jared, is NOT worth 2.9 million dollars. I read an interview with Jared Ashley where he told the DJ what he was going to do with the money, he got from John Rich.. Counting his chickens? Maybe both are guilty, a draw

I agree she shouldn’t have married him for lots of reasons. But she did. She made a commitment to take care of him. That’s exactly what a wife does in a marriage, celebrity or not, even when the man is at fault. I didn’t blame her for his addiction or behavior. I blame her for not intervening when he is obviously out of control. He needs help not just to grow up, and if he can’t stop on his own, then shouldn’t his wife step up and do what needs to be done? Like I said before, who else is responsible for helping him if not his wife?
And of course it’s not a child’s fault if their parent is an alcoholic. I never said that. Joan married him KNOWING he is an alcoholic and has been for years. If she cared she would have done whatever was necessary to get him sober in the 8 years she’s dated him. He’s been on this self-destructive path long enough for her to see this thing coming.

Why don’t you tell us what it’s like to be in the music business? You can be an alcoholic no matter what you do for a living. Singers seem to take much more pride in it though.
And no wonder celebrities often marry beneath themselves. They can make those stupid wifey rules, and the woman has to obey or be replaced. Pathetic.
I’m a fan of John Rich and I have to say this. This feud and problems started a year or so ago and Jared waited until John put out his solo CD to start problems and also filed the charges right before John goes on tour with Big Kenny. Talk about timing to be asking for so much money and also trying to hit John’s career at the same time. I’m glad John didn’t pay him and you can’t go asking for millions of dollars just because someone allegedly punched you. No I think Jared saw an opportunity and he’s taking it, hope you lose you LOSER!!! John this time I’m on your side!
