As you can see from this clip, millions of Letterman viewers got to see what many of our spies in the U.S. Northwest and the Nashville music scenes have been knowing for nearly a year.  TIM MONTANA is the real deal with his own refreshing sound and brand that speaks to a new generation of country music listeners that don’t judge musicians on appearances and rejects phony theatrics.  If you think we are biased in our reporting… you are correct.  Perhaps more amazing, is he pulled this nation-wide TV performance off without any major record label arm-twisting, fluff-crap or a mega marketing budget.

As Beverly Keel, the Tennessean’s celebrity columnist put it, “This is a huge opportunity for any artist, much less one with out a major label deal.”

Our spies tell us TIM hopes to have a new record completed by June 2009.

For a several weeks now, we have been hearing unconfirmed reports from spies that Country Music Royalty TANYA TUCKER was the victim of a serious medical mishap that occurred at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. We have also been told by spies on the West Coast that TANYA chose to get the hell out of Vanderbilt Medical Center and recover in California where she also has a home. IF THIS IS TRUE, GET WELL SOON TANYA… WE NEED YOU BACK HERE IN NASHVILLE MAKING GOOD MUSIC!

Thank goodness JESSICA’s record is falling off Billboard’s top 50 Country Albums Chart!!! Sony BMG… what were you thinking??? Hopefully this terrible album will be enough to send her packing back to Hollywood. However, our spies caught up with her honky-tonkin’ at The Stage on Broadway last night in Nashville. Judging from her face in this picture, perhaps country music and tonkin’ isn’t much her thing.

Almost President and Nashville resident AL GORE and his Global Warming Alliance got a little too excited when they were able to unite fuck ‘tard Rev. AL SHARPTON with conservative and sometimes nutty Rev. PAT ROBERTSON for a TV commercial. They also boasted of uniting House Speaker NANCY PELOSI with former House Speaker NEWT GINGRICH for a global warming TV commercial.

However, based on TOBY KEITH’s Q&A with San Jose, California’s The Mercury News, it will be a cold day in hell before the DIXIE CHICKS and he will be doing a similar TV commercial.

The best part of the Q&A was when TOBY was asked about who he would vote for in the upcoming presidential election. He responded by saying “…people need to go educate themselves and not listen to moron celebrities.”

His good music, common sense, down to earth appeal is probably why he was recently named Forbres Magazine’s #1 Top Earning Country Music artist. Except for an occasional Bush-bashing rant, we haven’t heard from the DIXIE CHICKS since they won some Grammy Awards for “Not Ready To Make Nice”.

TOBY, enjoy that $48 million. DIXIE CHICKS, I guess y’all still Not Ready To Make Nice.

Like the story before this, I didn’t want to write this story because I am actually lending credibility to the fantasy that NBC’s Nashville Star is a nationwide talent contest instead of a shameful reality show. Previous seasons, while sometimes pained, at least attempted to pretend they were a talent competition.

There is simply no conceivable way anybody with just a little music savvy can believe that this season’s contestants are in any way representative of the unsigned country music talent “out there.” NBC has successfully managed to morph this former talent show into a low-rent reality show. Before you send me any nasty emails, please understand I believe that the final contestants are all perfectly fine singers. However, they simply and undeniably are NOT the best of the best of the unsigned country music artists out there. I hope this will be one of the last stories I have to write about a stupid reality show.

This is a prime example of the big record companies, Columbia Nashville/SonyBMG in JESSICA’s case, are trying to shove their misjudgments of what country music is down our throats. Don’t hate on JESSICA, it’s the fucked up system that is the blame. I feel sorry for her. How is it that they (SonyBMG and her management) thought they would put her in some daisy dukes, boots, show-off her big boobs and show up at a premier country music festival in a prime time lineup and that would magically make her country? Country music would have been much better served by SonyBMG taking the outrageous budget/advances JESSICA surely demands, and develop and release 10 new real country music artists. No wonder people don’t like to pay for records. FUBAR.
