Lewis Copeland and Dierks Bentley

Lewis Copeland and Dierks Bentley

A spy snapped this photograph of DIERKS BENTLEY chatting it up with LEWIS COPELAND.  DIERKS joined LEWIS on the stage for a few songs back in November.  LEWIS is a Broadway Ave. favorite among honky tonkers.  Reportedly the two were seen exchanging phone numbers. DIERKS apparently arrived at the club in Nashville with JOHN RICH.  When together, we sometimes refer to them as the “good cop” (DIERKS) and the “bad cop” (JOHN) because DIERKS has a great reputation of being an all-around-nice-guy and JOHN has a reputation of sometimes being a know-it-all asshole.

Just another gratuitous TV performance from the Mayor of Country Music, JAMEY JOHNSON. This performance of “In Color” originally aired December 9, 2008 on the Late Show with David Letterman. (Disclosure: we are very biased in our favorable coverage of the Mayor)

Big Kenny from the on-and-off duo of Big & Rich

Prolific songwriter and country music artist BIG KENNY, whose real name is WILLIAM KENNETH ALPHIN, showed up on stage at the ACM Awards Chevrolet After Party in Nashville November 12, 2008.  Thankfully he wasn’t with his on-and-off again duo mega-ego partner JOHN RICH.  We haven’t seen BIG KENNY around in a while so it was great to see him having a good time and belting out a few songs.

We happened upon larger-than-life TRACE ADKINS and his wife RHONDA (not pictured here) honky tonk badonkadodonkin’ with guests at the Chevrolet After-Party following the CMA Awards show on November 12, 2008 in Nashville.

Kylee and Jamey Johnson Sharing the Stage

Kylee and Jamey Johnson Sharing the Stage

This video of JAMEY “The Mayor of Country Music” JOHNSON was taken March 18, 2008 by a spy at a St. Judes Chirdren’s Reachsearch Hospital funraiser held at the Tin Roof in Nashville.  While the video quality is certainly inferior, we were assured that as usual, The Mayor easily managed to make this striped down acoustic performance sound like a million bucks.  Towards the send of his set she shared the stage with his daughter KYLEE.  Even JOHNSON’s former wife was there to lend her support to the effort.

Unknown to KEITH ANDERSON as the charity event was ending, mega-mouth JOHN RICH asked for an audience member at the Second Harvest charity event to come on stage at the Ryman and arm wrestle KEITH. To encourage KEITH and the surprised volunteer, the audience reached into their wallets to encourage the contest. A spy recorded the contest on his amateur camera.

At the Second Harvest event, a spy managed to record this amateur video clip of DIERKS BENTLEY performing his newest single “Feel That Fire.” DIERKS said it was his first time to perform the new song live in front of an audience. As usual, he made it sound good and look simple.

DIERKS BENTLEY and KEITH ANDERSON were among the country music artists to lend their talent to the Second Harvest food bank program. Both DIERKS and KEITH played a few songs and seemed very much to enjoy the casual laid back feel of the event held at the Ryman Auditorium.
