• Welcome

Hangin\' out on the tour bus before the show.

As you can see from the photo above, our spies found RAY SCOTT drinkin’ a cold one and yapping on the phone while on his tour bus over the 4th of July holiday weekend in Oklahoma.

The album’s first single “Poor Folks” is trademark “RAY SCOTT.” It tells of drinkin’ beer from a styrofoam cooler, from an old truck bed, while fishing at the lake, listening to the radio and all the time wondering… “what the ‘Poor Folks’ are doing tonight?”

Listen for yourself:

Hell yeah. We couldn’t agree more RAY!

As “real country music,” this single and the entire album are perfect.

Don’t worry readers; we will keep spying on RAY a lot more as he runs the roads the rest of the year. SEND US YOUR PICS!!!

Do you like Ray Scott's new song "Poor Folks"?

Early today, Monday (7/7) NICOLE KIDMAN and KEITH URBAN welcomed their new bundle of joy…a 6lb7oz baby girl! CLICK HERE to see KEITH’s internet post. The baby arrived just two days after KEITH rocked the stage at LP field for the Poets and Pirates Tour with KENNY CHESNEY! The baby was born here in Nashville and the couple named their little Australian/American SUNDAY ROSE KIDMAN URBAN!! WOW…that’s a mouth full! Can you imagine when she starts school or filling out any paperwork the effort that will have to be put into that:) SUNDAY was born on Monday July 7th!! Congrats to the couple…I can only imagine this is going to be a daddy’s little girl!

From the flags, to the “shitters”, to the fireworks, to the Kenny Chesney production crew…Nashville is getting primed and ready for a weekend packed full of events and activities!

Thousands of people will invade downtown Nashville on the Fourth of July to partake in the all day long festivities. There will be food and activities for everyone of all ages. The stage is already set-up for the “Let Freedom Sing” concert that will be taking place all day Friday. The entertainment line-up includes: THE WANNABEATLES, LES KER & THE BAYOU BAND, THE LOST TRAILERS, BARRY SCOTT, THE NASHVILLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, PHIL VASSAR and MICHEAL McDONALD. Of course the highlight of the night will be the fireworks show.

Since all my friends are “PIRATES”…the highlight of my weekend will be the PIRATES AND POETS TOUR with KENNY CHESNEY! Of course KENNY would never do anything solo so he’s brining along KEITH URBAN (my thunder from down under), LEANN RIMES (who I’m sure will wear some short dress…it’s been her style lately), GARY ALLEN (who I’m going to meet and chase airplanes with) and SAMMY HAGAR (hopefully my soon to be new client…let’s do something with that hair boy)!! Who knows who else KENNY might have up his sleeves. The concert starts early which makes for a long day of partaking in adult beverages…so grab your sunscreen and remember pace yourself. Those steps in LP field can be dangerous and no one wants to see any of ya’ll (ok so maybe I don’t want to see myself) falling down the stairs on the jumbotron!

Lastly no weekend would be complete without SUNDAY FUNDAY…so for those of you who like the BEATLES get ready for some RINGO STAR who will be playing at the Wildhorse Saloon! I personally would much rather see SIR PAUL McCARTNEY but since he’s off walking his ex-wifes prosthetic leg (the only thing he got out of that marriage) he doesn’t have time to be in Nashville. So if you’re like me and RINGO just isn’t you’re idea of fun there is another option…you can always hit up Legends Corner Bar to see John Carter play!

Lastly and most importantly…we’d like to thank all the men and women who have or who are serving our country! It is because of each of you that we can celebrate our freedom…GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

What has become of the “redneck” woman? It seems that GRETCHEN WILSON has fallen off the face of the Earth. Our spies did spot GRETCHEN out with friends at the Stage on Broadway last week but besides these random nights out where has she been hiding? You never hear much about her anymore, you don’t hear her much on the radio….and well there are some local musicians who have more tour dates than she does this summer! So what’s the deal? There’s been talk around town that no one wants to work with GRETCHEN anymore and that she’s a bit too DIVA for a lot of people! Although this is just talk, this spy does think there is some truth behind these stories. We know that musicians sometimes get in a “slump” but will she pull out of it? Or was she just riding high on the tailwind success of BIG AND RICH and now that they have fizzled so will she? I must give MS. GRETCHEN some credit she did just release a new video for a song called “Work Hard, Play Harder”, which is the theme song for TNT’s drama Saving Grace! I know it’s something but if I were an artist and went from selling millions of albums to singing for a TV series I may take a look at my career! I think that the problem is this- SAME OLD…SAME OLD!! GRETCHEN has just gotten boring-it’s just the same old thing. You can see it in this new video there’s nothing new! Her brand is wore out and has been replaced with some “GLAM”…we all know the country stars who’ve stepped it up a notch! OH YEAH, I almost forgot, I do need to mention that GRETCHEN is going to be in next months issue of Redbook…an odd magazine to feature a rough-around-the edges GRETCHEN! I could see FAITH HILL in Redbook before I could see GRETCHEN…but maybe they are doing a feature story on women who tear up rose gardens with four wheelers or something! Until GRETCHEN proves me otherwise I’m given her the DENIED button!

Eye spy with my Nashville Spy Eye a WINNER…Well it’s been airing for a few weeks now and I think it’s time for me to take stand and mark my vote for my top two on NASHVILLE STAR. I am just one person but my vote is the most important…right? LOL I have been pulling for these two since the very beginning and now officially give my stamp of approval. I do have a hunch that one of these two will be the next NASHVILLE STAR!

My top male pick from NASHVILLE STAR is for GABE GARCIA. This Tex-Mex hottie not only rocked the song “Fireman” the other night but he always seems to be igniting a fire in me! GABE is true to his roots and pure country. He is as real as he is raw and this boy has my vote!

My top female pick from NASHVILLE STAR is MELISSA LAWSON. She too is a Texas native and a force to be reckon with! Damn this girl can sing and what I love even more is her confidence. She is confident in her abilities and also confident in who she is…she is not the typical norm for someone trying to make it in the music business and I like that. She has curves and she knows how to use them…she isn’t afraid to embrace who she is and with that voice she could win this competition.

The Stage on Broadway

Our spies caught up with former Nashville Star winner and popular recording artist CHRIS YOUNG last night at the stage. CHRIS was out doing some honky-tonking and agreed to get up and sing a few songs at The Stage on Broadway, located in Nashville’s honky-tonk district of lower Broadway Ave.

Spies at the Sommet Center, Nashville’s biggest indoor venue, tell us there are still plenty of tickets for BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN’s Aug. 21st show. Everyone knows that BRUCE has written and sang some awesome songs!!!  That is indisputable. However he seems to be “out of touch” with us regular folks lately. Perhaps it is because his big liberal John Kerry, Barack Obama, Moveon.org, Dixie Chick luving loud mouth of his has been hurting him. We don’t know…. “just sayin’.”

America sends home…ALYSON GILBERT! This Minnesota native had her final performance tonight on NASHVILLE STAR. ALYSON was on the bottom two on the first episode and in my opinion she should have went home then…she’s a knock out but her vocal capabilities just aren’t astounding. JEWEL, a judge on the show, often compared ALYSON and her performances to that of a beauty pageant contestant. Considering ALYSON was Miss St. Paul there is no denying her pageant roots, I guess it’s just in her nature. ALYSON’S performances were always a bit over the top and at times her eyes would get so wide you’d think her eyes were going to pop out of her head! In any case…ALYSON got out sung and sent home. GOOD-BYE Miss St. Paul!!

CAT FIGHT: It has been recently reported that ”gone country” tart JESSICA SIMPSON wore a t-shirt that read “Real Girls Eat Meat.”

Many have inferred that JESSICA’s t-shirt was an untactful slight against CARRIE UNDERWOOD who is a known vegetarian. Both women have been romantically linked to NFL quarterback TONY ROMO.

In case of were wondering what former Nashville resident PAM ANDERSON has to say about it….listen for yourself from this radio interview.

Goodness ladies!

JOHANNA’S SIDE NOTE: Ummm come on people we know what kind of “meat” JESSICA is talking about…we know what she’s eating- SAUSAGE IT’S WHATS FOR DINNER!!

According to our spies, BILLY RAY CYRUS (spied warming up backstage) and MILEY CYRUS (on stage with JEFFREY STEELE) were among the impressive music talent that showed up to perform and lend their support to a Nashville-area skate festival yesterday (6/29) to honor ALEX LaVASSEUR.

ALEX was a passionate and enthusiastic skater by all accounts. He is the late son of Nashville Star judge and mega songwriter JEFFREY. ALEX was only 13 when he was killed is an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) accident in January of last year.

At the festival, JEFFREY told the crowd that the only song of his that was on his late son’s i-Pod was his song entitled “Simple Song”. Then MILEY and JEFFREY sang the song together. “Simple Song” will be on MILEY’s album “Beakout” due for release July 22, 2008.

Then after some resistance from JEFFREY, MILEY persuaded him to sing “Hollywood Girl” with her. It is a song JEFFREY wrote. Also, songwriter and artist SARAH BUXTON joined the stage to lend her support… from the looks of the photo, (see above) she even got a little up-skirt breeze.

BILLY RAY and JEFFREY work together on NBC’s popular TV program Nashville Star. Our spies reported that the event was very moving and emotional for those in attendance.
